Work was beginning on some Kali images also. Kumartuli-wandering around because no Prodip. P's studio empty except 1 shola-deocrated ekchala Durga and the modern Ajunta image was being painted. The okalbodhan had gone to Kidderpore and P with it. Lots of images being taken away. Discovered that the shola comes from Midnapore area. An image made entirely from jute (pat) had been made and delivered. A sarvajanin Dp was installed on the outskirts of Kumartuli. I couldn't see any ghora singha images except the one in Prodip's studio. I was told that Bangla style pratimas are headed for sarvajanin puja in a) Bhagbazar b) Shyam Square c) Bidhan Square. So this style is not exclusively reserved for house pujas. Also, my attention was drawn to a difference in certain math chownies with one square and the other curved. The square type was being transported out of Kumartuli this morning. I also noticed an unusual pratima-Durga with 'gopal' (small, baby-like) on her lap and 4 figs in ekchala. pm-Kalighat, Profulla. Most of his images had been taken out. Sirish-met the sadhus and Sirish they were about to move a Durga for the ashram-aladha.
